pride

I saw a commercial with giant people that were doing things on a huge scale. Washing their feet in a waterfall, walking on a causeway, doing stuff like that.

It got me thinking about the arrogance of wealth and position.

People who are well-known, celebrities if you will, who have achieved notoriety in something and who are well-known begin to think they are great. Before long, they think that they live in a world beyond everybody else. They also begin to feel that they are beyond the rules made for ordinary people, that they walk large and deserve to do so.

When someone stops them for some reason, they are surprised. How dare these people tell me that I cannot do something? Arrogance takes over.

Jesus talks about pride, as does the Old Testament. The apostle Paul says So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! (1 Corinthians 10:12).

Just because someone tells you that you are great doesn’t mean you are.

Many are the people who were brought down because they thought they were above normal stuff.

Just a thought.

You are welcome to say anything you want as long as it is nice. If I don't like it, or it is ugly, I will take it off, place it into the garbage disposal, grind it up, and allow it to be flushed into the Gulf of Mexico where it will be eaten by a fish and then excreted where it will lie on the bottom of the ocean until it is covered up by other comments.
