a dirty old man

I was in the store the other day waiting for Ella and I noticed I was by the swim suit section. There were several pictures of lovely young women wearing their swim suits.

I walked down the mall and there was Victoria’s Secret with pictures of lovely young women wearing their merchandise.

The church here in Lincoln is across the street from the swimming pool. All day there are young women walking to or from the pool in quite skimpy swim suits.

It dawned on me that I am a 60 year old man and am looking at pictures of women who are sometimes 1/3 my age. It makes me feel like a dirty old man.

And I do not like the feeling.

It isn’t that my mind is in the gutter, it is just that I do not like having the skin of young women constantly thrust into my face.

It makes it hard to keep my mind on things above.

It is a major problem with our young people also. When little children wear string bikinis, they get used to going around with no clothes on. And so many of our young people have gotten into that mindset. It is not out of reach to see a time when America condones public nudity like some European countries do.

I remember some of that in Germany in the early 70’s and I understand that it is more common now. And I do not want it here.

It cheapens a woman to wear nothing, or to dress immodestly. The writer of the proverbs writes: Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion (Proverbs 11:22).

Movie stars have shown us, if nothing else, that it is okay to be nude in public. In fact, people pay money to go see them nude and pretending to have sex. If you did that in public, you would be arrested. Do it in a movie and you get an award.

A bit of ranting, but it is still true. And I hate it.

You are welcome to say anything you want as long as it is nice. If I don't like it, or it is ugly, I will take it off, place it into the garbage disposal, grind it up, and allow it to be flushed into the Gulf of Mexico where it will be eaten by a fish and then excreted where it will lie on the bottom of the ocean until it is covered up by other comments.
