busy hands during the sermon

It never bothered me when people did handwork while I preached. It drives some preachers crazy, but I never figured out why.

Some people just think better when their hands are busy. To make everyone sit still and listen is kind of mean. I for one like to draw or take notes or something when I am listening to someone speak. If I am like that, why not other people?

It is a strange part of our culture that the only way we can listen and show respect is to have our eyes glued to the speaker and not do anything else.

You are welcome to say anything you want as long as it is nice. If I don't like it, or it is ugly, I will take it off, place it into the garbage disposal, grind it up, and allow it to be flushed into the Gulf of Mexico where it will be eaten by a fish and then excreted where it will lie on the bottom of the ocean until it is covered up by other comments.
